Democratic engagement and civic participation, at its core, stands for an unflinching commitment to democratic ideals represented through the last voter and every citizen, the future elector and the conscious citizen.
While the successful conduct of elections may be the true litmus test of a democratic system, it is imperative that for it to succeed, there must be prior engagement and dialogue, consensus and communication.
The DEO’s portal is a step in this direction as we take a much needed foot forward towards empowering citizens with Digital Democracy: information and engagement at fingertips. This portal seeks to be a one stop solution for all electors and citizens of Kamrup Metropoltian Election District to engage, evolve and exercise their democratic rights and spirit.
We have taken some unique initiatives in this platform for the ease of the electors. It is hoped that the same shall be found to be promoting access and engagement among our citizens and electors.
Like any other initiative, public participation and feedback is critical to the success of any system. I invite our electors and citizens to engage with us and share feedback and ideas so that we may achieve our ideal of Ease of Delivering Democracy to who it matters the most: to each one of us.
